Photographs taken 3 June 2002, a bank holiday Monday celebrating the Queen's Golden Jubilee. The evening that this photograph was taken, a gala concert took place featuring Sir Paul McCartney, Sir Elton John, and dozens of other musicians before 12,000 in the garden of Buckingham Palace and over a million on the Mall. The concert was followed by a magnificent fireworks display and a light show projected directly upon the face of Buckingham Palace. The celebratory atmosphere explains the bunting across Halcrow Street.
