When Saints Andrew, Anthony, Denis, David, James and Patrick arrive to slay Brandron, Suckabus tricks them and imprisons them. Brandron orders the champions to support him or die, and forces them to fight St. George when he arrives. But George defeats all six champions, and Brandon, rather than be killed by George, beats out his own brains.

CALIB

Calib is a witch, who lives in a cave with her son, Suckabus, Tarpax the devil, and young George, whom she has doted on since she stole him from his parents at a tender age. Tarpax prophecies to Calib that she will not die until love clouds her judgment. Both Suckabus and George are keen to know their true parentage, so Calib reveals to Suckabus that Tarpax is his father, and tells George that she rescued him from his murderous mother. She shows George the six champions that she has imprisoned in her cave, and gives him her magic wand as a present. When George learns the truth, he uses the wand to imprison her within a rock. Tarpax's prophecy is thus fulfilled. Tarpax later informs Suckabus that Calib has become a duchess in Hell.

CARINTHA

Carintha (also called Carinthia) is the maid of Violeta, princess of Trebizond. She and Violeta are attracted to the Saints Andrew and Anthony, and are horrified when the Emperor orders them to be executed for failing to recant their Christianity. The Emperor releases them and provides swords, whereupon Andrew and Anthony frighten everybody away.

She then shows him the six champions of Christendom, whom she has imprisoned in her cave, and gives him her magic wand. But when George waves the wand, he sees the ghosts of his father and mother and learns that his parents were virtuous. He attacks Calib, and uses the wand to imprison her in a rock. Then he releases the six champions, who accept him into their number and name him St. George of England. They all ride off on separate adventures, and St. George allows Suckabus to be his servant. The Chorus relates how St. George killed a dragon to win the hand of the fair Sabrina, but her father, Pomil, reneged on his promise and threw George in prison. After seven years, George escaped by breaking the jailer's neck. George is reunited with Suckabus in Tartary. There, George captures Ormandine, and releases the bewitched St. David. Later, George arrives at the castle of Brandron the giant, who, aided by the treacherous Suckabus, has captured the other six champions. SUCKABUS

When George imprisons Calib in a rock, Suckabus begs to follow him on his travels, and George allows him to. But Tarpax tells Suckabus that his mother is now a duchess in Hell, and the only way to see her is to indulge in sin while traveling with George. Suckabus believes him. He and George are separated for seven years when George is imprisoned, and Suckabus ends up as a shepherd in Tartary. There, he is reunited with George, and they successfully defeat the enchanter Ormandine. But Tarpax tells Suckabus that he is being insufficiently sinful and gives him magic spells that will enable him to summon his father, travel anywhere he wants instantaneously, and cause women to fall in love with him. Suckabus goes on a sinful binge around the world. He finds himself in the castle of Brandron the giant, and steals some food. When Brandron finds him, Suckabus casts a spell and Brandron falls in love with him. The Saints Andrew, Anthony, David, Denis, James and Patrick arrive to slay Brandron, but Suckabus betrays them. When St. George defeats Brandron, Tarpax will not come to Suckabus's aid. Suckabus atones somewhat for his crimes by explaining to the King of Macedon the fate of his daughters.

TARPAX

Tarpax is a winged devil. He is under the command of Calib the witch, although his powers are evidently greater than hers. Calib and Tarpax reveal to Suckabus that they are his mother and father. When George attacks Calib, Tarpax abandons her. He permits Suckabus to join George on his travels, but tells him that his mother is now a duchess in Hell, and that the only way to see her again is to indulge in sin. Tarpax becomes a servant of Ormandine the enchanter. When George and Suckabus arrive to slay Ormandine, Tarpax chides Suckabus for not indulging in sin sufficiently, and gives him magic spells to aid him, adding that he will come whenever he calls him. But when Suckabus is in danger in Brandron's castle, Tarpax does not come to help him.

THREE VIRGINS

When St. Andrew and St. Anthony meet the Emperor of Trebizond after killing the dragon, three virgins are present on the stage. They are presumably the virgins whose wrongs Andrew and Anthony plan to revenge, but nothing more is made of this, and it is not explained why the virgins carry bows, arrows and quivers.

VIOLETA

Violeta is a princess of Trebizond. She and her maid, Carintha, are attracted to the Saints Andrew and Anthony, and are horrified when the Emperor orders them to be executed for failing to recant their Christianity. The Emperor allows the saints to choose their executioners, and they choose Violeta and Carintha, who refuse, saying they'd rather kill themselves. So Andrew and Anthony offer to kill each other. The Emperor releases them and provides swords, whereupon Andrew and Anthony frighten them all away.
