Basileus is a right and honorable king. As soon as he discloses Flateri and Rigor, he expels them from his court. Then, having decided to collect debts, he summons his greatest debtor, Ophiletis, into his presence.
FLATTERY
Flateri is Symulatyon's cousin. As typical of the Vice, Flateri and Rigor decide to play a trick on Symulatyon: they feign a fight and when Symulatyon arrives and tries to separate them, they strike him.
HUMILITY
The disguise assumed by Rigor to accompany Ophiletis into the presence of king Basileus.
OPHILETIS
Ophiletis is a gentleman of King Basileus household. Having lived far beyond his degree, he owes money to the king, but he is not able to pay his debts off. Being summoned by Basileus's steward, Proniticus, into the presence of the king, he accepts the assistance of Rigor, Flateri and Symulatyon.
PRONITICUS
Proniticus is the steward of King Basileus. He helps the king to collect debts and summons Ophiletis, one of the king's greatest debtors, into the presence of Basileus.
RIGOR
As typical of the Vice, Rigor and Flateri decide to play a trick on Symulatyon: they feign a fight and when Symulatyon arrives and tries to separate them, they strike him. Then, Disguised as Humylity, Rigor accompanies Ophiletis into the presence of King Basileus and weeps to speed his case.
SIMULATION
Symulatyon is Flateri's cousin. On seeing Flateri and Rigor fighting, Symulatyon tries to separate them and is hit by the two knaves.
